About The Position

DRS RADA Technologies, a subsidiary of Leonardo DRS, is focused on proprietary radar solutions and legacy avionics systems supporting the defense industry globally. The company is a global pioneer of AESA tactical radars for active military protection, counter-drone applications, critical infrastructure protection, and border surveillance. We are seeking a Materials Flow Intern to work alongside our Supply Chain Team and gain hands-on experience performing time studies, developing standard kitting lead times, documenting and improving material delivery workflows, enhancing production support, and removing bottlenecks that impact schedule execution. This is a fully in-person summer internship located in Germantown, Maryland. We are seeking a rising senior pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Finance. Interns will work full-time for a minimum of 12 weeks during the summer.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Rising senior, majoring in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Finance
  • Data-driven mindset
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Effectively utilize standard office software and computer equipment
  • Proficient knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Vizio
  • Familiar with Lean Six Sigma principles
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform professional administrative staff duties in support of functional areas, gradually increasing in level of difficulty and responsibility
  • Contribute to the execution of projects and organizational objectives when asked
  • Create graphs and charts for various projects using spreadsheet and graphics software with direction
  • Create various documents and electronic information with direction
  • Update relevant data using database applications and conduct process map
  • Supports creating Value Stream and Business Process Maps
  • Supports creating standard operating procedure for Material Flow.
  • Assist in coordinating conferences and special events; assist in making any necessary room rental, reservation or catering arrangements
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • May support staff in assigned project based work
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
