About The Position

Senior Accounting Manager Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Sr. Accounting Manager for Northwest Accounting Policy team. This dynamic and highly visible position involves partnering with other organizations to provide accounting policy guidance, under United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, for a variety of significant and complex transactions. This position leads a team of accounting professionals and reports directly to the Director of Financial Reporting for BCA in Renton, WA. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite one of at the listed location. The ideal candidate for this position should possess strong communication, problem solving, and project management skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • 10+ years of accounting experience
  • 5+ years of experience researching and applying US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to solve complex accounting issues

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field
  • Work experience in industry with a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC registrant and/or public accounting firm
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Experience with Big 4 accounting
  • Experience with Estimates of Completion (EACs)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze various transactions and identify alternative solutions on such matters including revenue recognition, program and contract accounting, business acquisitions and divestitures, inventory (supplier) costs and new accounting pronouncements
  • Communicate accounting policy decisions to executive leadership
  • Primary liaison between BCA and the Corporate Accounting Policy team and Boeing’s internal and external auditors on key accounting matters
  • Manage the Company’s accounting whitepaper process as it pertains to BCA matters
  • Manage the monthly close process for supplier accounting to ensure the timely and accurate recording of the financial impact of supplier transactions
  • Encourage and motivate employees to identify process improvements
  • Develop and strengthen specific knowledge and skills of the technical accounting and supplier accounting teams.

  • Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
  • Summary Pay Range: $141,950 - $192,050
