About The Position

Senior Accounting Manager- Finance People Incorporated Mental Health Services is Seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to help lead our Finance team. This position Manages the general accounting functions and accounting staff with the intent of maintaining the integrity of the financial accounting system. Directs and coordinates the daily activities of the staff to record the revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities of the organization and to have this data accurately reflected in all reports that are used to guide business decisions. This role will ensure that oversight and reporting is designed to protect assets, meet reporting requirements, and effectively plan for short and long-term financial goals of the organization. Schedule: Full-Time Monday - Friday, regular business hours, hybrid schedule that includes one in-office day per week. Location: People Incorporated Ames Impact Center: 3000 Ames Crossing Rd, Suite 600, Eagan, MN 55121 Hiring Range: $92,216.05 - $102,491.01, plus $1,000 hiring bonus for external applicants. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting major.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in the areas of financial statement preparation, budgeting, purchasing, accounts payable.
  • Minimum of two years of prior supervisory experience.
  • Expertise in computerized automated financial management systems including prior experience with implementation, training, report generation and system upgrade
  • Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with demonstration of developing and establishing financial policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and/or CPA designation preferred.
  • Preference given to candidates with prior accounting experience within a not-for-profit environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare or direct the preparation of financial statements, general ledger accounts, billing for various program grants/contracts, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, and reports required by regulatory agencies
  • Maintain internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash, and credit management.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
  • Coordinate external audits with independent accounting firm and funding agencies
  • Supervise employees performing financial reporting, accounting, and accounts payable.
