About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support a growing agriculture operation with a strong focus on grower accounting and general ledger accounting This role plays a key part in financial reporting, cost tracking, and ensuring accurate accounting across multiple growers and farming operations. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced, seasonal environment and understands the financial nuances of agricultural production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, preferred not required
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within agriculture, would be nice
• Experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close
• Proficient in Excel; experience with agriculture or ERP systems a plus
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Manage grower accounting activities, including settlement statements, grower billings, advances, and cost allocations
• Track and analyze crop costs, including labor, materials, overhead, and harvest-related expenses
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to farming operations and production costs
• Collaborate with operations, ranch managers, and field teams to ensure accurate cost reporting
• Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis
• Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within accounting functions
