About The Position

The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller on areas of planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions for assigned business area(s). This position is responsible for month end closing, budgeting and planning, profitability analysis, and product costing and cost analysis. This position requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, while providing support to the finance and accounting staff.

Requirements

  • A thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work with Senior Management.
  • Ability to perform with highly developed attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey issues clearly, concisely, and effectively.
  • Ability to display strong professionalism and organizational skills.
  • Skill and ability to perform all essential functions in an ethical manner.
  • Intermediate level skills using computer applications (Outlook, Excel, enterprise software).
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in ERP financial software such as Sage or Infor M3.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively through ambiguity while remaining highly adaptable and responsive to changing business needs.
  • Possess a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to observe and identify details and themes.
  • Ability to work extended hours as scheduled, including weekends.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office programs (emphasis in Excel and Outlook).

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, CMA, CFA designation (or working towards these) is a plus.
  • Experience working in a finance position in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Sage, QuickBooks, or Infor M3).

Responsibilities

  • Monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy of balances and timely recording of transactions.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and operating results and provide analysis of variances to prior period and budgeted performance.
  • Investigate and resolve general ledger account discrepancies against subsidiary ledgers.
  • Collaborate with the Controller and NA Mobility CFO on month end consolidated financial reporting and annual budget process.
  • Process and post general ledger entries.
  • Assist with annual financial audit.
  • Work with the Controller, NA Mobility CFO, and external parties to develop and improve robust finance policies and procedures.
  • Assist with process improvements and automation efforts to streamline accounting operations and improve the quality of monthly close and the internal control environment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries and requests from both internal and external customers.
  • Support the Finance/Accounting team with special projects upon request.
  • Protect the Etac organization by keeping information confidential.
  • Ensure and follow safety requirements and standards.
  • Perform all duties in a manner that follows, demonstrates, and promotes Company values.
  • Report to work as scheduled, on time, and be able to work entire work schedule.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
