About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing general accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role partners closely with finance leadership, auditors, and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics 365, Great Plaines).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Prior experience in manufacturing or distribution a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements for multiple entities; domestic and international.
  • Proficient in working with multi‑currency transactions, including USD, MXN, and CAD, with accurate conversion and reconciliation capabilities.
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accuracy of the general ledger.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
  • Support external audits, including preparation of schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Review and analyze P&L results, identifying trends and anomalies.
  • Support accounting for fixed assets, inventory, revenue, and expenses.
  • Collaborate with AP, AR, Payroll, and Operations to resolve accounting issues.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and system enhancements.
