About The Position

Our secure, cloud-based platform is used to support businesses before, during and after their people move or travel to wherever they need to be and helps companies ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time. As part of the Accounting team at Topia, the Senior Accountant ensures accurate financial reporting across multiple entities and currencies. You’ll manage core accounting functions, support compliance with US GAAP, and drive process improvements that enhance efficiency and enable informed business decisions. This position will report directly to the Controller.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in public accounting or in-house accounting functions, with SaaS experience preferred.
  • Familiar with SaaS business models, financial processes, and capable of reviewing, understanding, and making improvements to accounting processes in a SaaS environment.
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting and currency exposure in a global business environment.
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP platforms
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment, balancing strategic thinking with tactical execution.

Responsibilities

  • Play a lead role in executing month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting across multiple entities.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Own deferred revenue schedules and processes in Netsuite, with a strong understanding of ASC 606.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage accounts payable, including vendor invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor relationship management.
  • Reconcile credit card collection payouts.
  • Perform general cost accounting and other related duties.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and resolve bank inquiries.
  • Manage accounts receivable collections and reconcile cash disbursements, payroll, and customer accounts.
  • Review and ensure proper coding of expenses in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain vendor records and compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper revenue recognition and expense allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and other applicable accounting standards.
  • Support internal and external audits through documentation and analysis.
  • Assist tax preparers with the completion and filing of federal, state, and local tax forms.
  • Handle foreign currency transactions and support reporting in multiple currencies.
  • Maintain accounting processes for multi-entity operations, ensuring accurate consolidation and intercompany eliminations.
