About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accounting records for multiple corporate entities, including full accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. This role also supports month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and supervision of accounting staff.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of advanced accounting experience, including AP, AR, payroll, banking/cash management, reconciliations, account analysis, monthly financial statements, audits, and special projects.
  • At least three years of supervisory experience , including oversight of daily and monthly tasks, conducting annual performance reviews, and serving as the acting lead in the Controllers absence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  • Advanced accounting knowledge and proficiency with spreadsheets and word-processing tools.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, confidentiality, initiative, and professionalism.
  • Capable of working independently, prioritizing effectively, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and process accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, account allocations, journal entries, month-end close, and account analysis.
  • Prepare daily bank balance reports; manage deposits, deposit logs, and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare required monthly and annual cost reports.
  • Complete monthly reporting, cost analysis, and reconciliation of units and payments for various programs.
  • Develop, review, and prepare complex financial and accounting reports, including monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Analyze financial data to support fiscal planning and budgeting.
  • Prepare and file business and property tax returns and maintain business licenses.
  • Manage the fixed asset system, including additions, disposals, depreciation schedules, and reconciliations.
  • Play a key role in year-end audit preparation and support.
  • Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures.
  • Lead and deliver specialized accounting projects as needed.
  • Directly supervise the daily and monthly tasks of accounting staff.
  • Provide input on annual performance reviews.
  • Serve as the acting lead in the Controllers absence.
