About The Position

The Senior Accountant provides support to the Controller in managing various accounting, reporting and audit support functions.

Requirements

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse stakeholders.
• Comprehensive understanding of general ledger accounting, with some understanding of Financial Statement preparation.
• 5-7 years of experience in public or private accounting, or other financial position.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Nice To Haves

• CPA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for transactions ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Review journal entries for transactions posted by Staff Accountant.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations including but not limited to students’ revenue, auxiliary revenue, operating expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payables, and reserves.
• Prepare weekly and monthly revenue reporting and reconciliations.
• Review weekly cash and payments reconciliations.
• Prepare schedules and journal entries for grant accounting, reporting and reimbursements.
• Assist Controller with external audits to gather documentation, respond to requests, and verify accuracy of supporting records.
• Work on projects and respond to requests from other Finance and non-Finance groups on campus.
• Other reasonable duties as assigned.
