About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team of professionals in providing professional analysis, control, and guidance in government financial and budgetary accounting and reporting; therefore, ensuring ongoing governmental transparency, legal and fiscal accountability, and appropriate use of Commonwealth resources! As a Senior Accountant, you will be providing professional guidance and monitoring of day-to day accounting activity for the Department of Human Services within the purview of the Human Services Unit in General Accounting. You will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of federal financial reports and fund financial statements. You will also have the opportunity to routinely interact with the various local, state, and federal entities involved in the work of the unit. In this role, you will serve as the manager's delegate for leading projects, facilitating presentations, refining internal processes, and establishing procedures. Requirements

  • One year as an Accountant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
  • Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities
