Champion in the arena! · Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation to maintain the accuracy of the credit union’s general ledger · Perform complex balance sheet reconciliations and research discrepancies to ensure accounts are properly supported and reconciling items are resolved in a timely manner. · Play a key role in the monthly and year-end financial close process, including preparing financial statements, supporting schedules, and variance analyses while ensuring deadlines are met. · Analyze financial activity and account balances to identify trends, irregularities, or operational issues that could impact financial reporting accuracy. · Support the monthly and year-end financial close process, including preparation of financial statements, schedules, and variance analysis. · Reconcile key operational accounts, including corporate credit union accounts, ACH, ATM and card settlement accounts, loan and deposit accounts, and other clearing or suspense accounts. · Assist with regulatory reporting, including preparation and support of the NCUA Call Report and other required filings. · Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes, reconciliation practices, and internal controls. · Maintain detailed workpapers and documentation to support financial reporting, audit readiness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Financial institution or credit union experience
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations

Responsibilities
