About The Position

The purpose of the Senior Accountant position is to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of JCCT’s financial reporting and revenue processes. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of JCCT’s financial reporting. This role will focus heavily on revenue recognition, study billing reconciliation, and supporting the monthly close and variance analysis processes. The Senior Accountant will also partner closely with site directors, providing financial insights and guidance, and will support integration activities for newly acquired sites. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical research environment, is detail-oriented, and enjoys both analytical work and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably including:
  • Revenue recognition work
  • Financial close processes
  • Account reconciliation and analysis
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Proficiency with Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, modeling)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance partners
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in clinical research, healthcare, or multi-site service organizations
  • Exposure to study billing, clinical trial accounting, or ASC 606
  • Experience supporting acquisitions
  • CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred (but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and internal JCCT policies.
  • Perform monthly study billing reconciliations, validating visit activity, billing events, and contract terms.
  • Work closely with the clinical operations team to validate milestone-based and per-patient revenue.
  • Monitor deferred and unbilled revenue balances and ensure proper cutoff.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules as part of the monthly close.
  • Perform P&L and balance sheet variance analysis and prepare supporting commentary.
  • Work directly with site directors to explain financial results, answer accounting-related questions, and help interpret study profitability.
  • Assist operations leaders in tracking enrollment, study revenue trends, and expense drivers.
  • Assist with rolling newly acquired sites into JCCT’s accounting systems and processes.
  • Validate opening balance sheets, review acquired study pipelines and assist with systems onboarding.
  • Support conversion of legacy financial data into standardized JCCT formats.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control standards.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve automation, and enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Assist with audit requests and support year-end audit requirements. Support preparation of the monthly financial package and dashboards.
