About The Position

The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Accounting team that is directly responsible for all accounting and reporting for Axis Americas. The Senior Accountant will demonstrate business acumen and have ownership of all assigned responsibilities. The Senior Accountant must have a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SOX compliance, internal control frameworks, and a continuous improvement mindset. This position is ideal for a candidate who is looking to be a part of a fast-paced, high-growth, diverse and hands-on environment. In addition to the boilerplate accounting responsibilities (full cycle month-end close), this role will provide innovative suggestions to improve efficiencies in support of Axis’ goals and initiatives. Requirements

  • Ability to perform a comprehensive analysis of key business metrics
  • Self-motivated, lead with strong work ethics, takes initiative, successfully handles multiple competing priorities and effectively manages deadlines
  • Resourceful, responsible and reliable
  • Professional and pleasant disposition
  • Proficient/Advanced in Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to understand/navigate ERPs and other software with limited instruction.(IFS is a plus)
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and communicate financial information.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced agile environment..
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and have a strong rapport with the executive team, colleagues, and subordinates.
  • Proven Finance business leader
  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
  • 5-8 years Accounting and Business Analysis experience
  • Experience working in a SOX environment

Nice To Haves

  • Lease Accounting experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record recurring journal entries, including monthly and quarterly accruals for expenses, prepaids, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Support monthly and quarterly close processes by ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests, tax accruals, and supporting schedules as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper coding, allocation, and documentation of financial transactions.
  • Participate in ad-hoc analyses, system improvements, and special accounting projects as assigned.
  • Attend the company’s annual Kickoff event and other occasional business travel as required.
  • Responsible for the submission of Month-end close process to group consolidation
  • Provide accounting support on various business transactions and complex accounting matters
  • Collaborate with group control team in Sweden
  • Participates and supports FP&A team on OPEX analysis and reporting (Investment Deck)
