Hybrid - Schedule 3 days in office and 2 days remote Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will assist in the day-to-day accounting operations for the Process Gases Division of Airgas. Key responsibilities include managing month-end closing, performing variance analysis and account reconciliations, and supporting various internal and external audit processes. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of accounting experience.
  • Major ERP and Consolidation system experience (e.g., BPC/Cadency).
  • General ledger, financial reporting systems, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and supporting month-end close processes.
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills are a must (VLookups, Pivot Tables, Advanced Formulas).
  • Able to work some extended hours as needed to meet tight month-end close deadlines.
  • Proven track record of success in prior senior accounting roles.
  • Strong technical accounting experience, knowledge, and understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, work independently, take on various responsibilities and prioritize as needed.

  • SAP experience (as part of Major ERP and Consolidation system experience).

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute the month-end closing process, including preparing journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and performing detailed variance analysis.
  • Complete all monthly account reconciliations and assist in day-to-day accounting operations of the division.
  • Complete various monthly reviews and audits, providing essential support for internal and external audit requests.
  • Actively coordinate with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and business unit operations teams to resolve financial issues and implement workable solutions.
