About The Position

The Invesco Private Markets (IPM) accounting team is responsible for investor, fund, and account level financial reporting, managing the fund treasury process, coordinating annual audits, and reviewing investor and fund level tax filing requirements for real estate, debt, and private equity funds. The team also handles acquisitions, dispositions, and coordination with joint venture partners, third-party service providers, and property management companies. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accounting and reporting for specific private markets portfolios and/or Fund products, which may include real estate, collateralized loan obligation (“CLO”), and/or private capital products. This role involves coordinating and reviewing deliverables prepared by Invesco Private Markets accounting personnel in Hyderabad, India, and supporting the Assistant Controller and Controller on assigned client accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting.
  • Two to Three (or more) years related work experience.
  • Public Accounting background sought for position.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals including both internal and external contacts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self motivated, organized and flexible.
  • Sense of urgency, strong curiosity and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred.
  • Real estate accounting background preferred.
  • Experience with Yardi and/or Investran software a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting and/or preparing financial statements, client reporting information, net asset value statements, capital call and distribution notices, consultant reports and other financial reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Serving as main point of contact, with support from Invesco accounting personnel in Hyderabad, India, for third-party property management accounting providers or third-party administrators.
  • Coordinating supporting documents, expectations, assignments, and deliverables with the outside third-party administrator.
  • Coordinating and running the general accounting function concerning the accuracy and maintenance of the ledger accounts and resulting property financial statements.
  • Drafting initial audit report, providing or coordinating delivery of audit support to auditors, works with Assistant Controller and Controller to incorporate auditor comments into final audit report.
  • Prepares final tie out of audit report.
  • Reviewing tax returns prepared by tax advisors and coordinating with internal tax team on tax guidance.
  • Taking ownership of maintenance of client bank accounts, including setup/closure, cash projections, and compliance.
  • Maintaining a working relationship with portfolio and asset managers, product management and compliance as a part of the portfolio team.
