About The Position

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting key accounting functions. This position is responsible for compiling financial information, processing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing financial data. The Senior Accountant may support one or multiple business units and must possess strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally within the organization. Position location: Deerfield, IL - Hybrid (Flexibility to work from home Mondays and Fridays)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or related field required.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification or CPA eligibility is a plus.
  • Experience in public accounting and/or working in a large corporation.
  • Familiarity with large ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
  • Experience with cost accounting.
  • Experience reconciling daily cash activities.

Responsibilities

  • Execute month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and financial reconciliations.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including balance sheet and income statement preparation.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Manage key accounting functions such as cost accounting, cash activities, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, and various accruals.
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations and eliminations as needed.
  • Assist with corporate reporting requirements and external audit requests.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting efforts.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency.
  • Stay up to date on relevant accounting standards and regulatory changes
