About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team with a primary focus on General Ledger accounting and Payroll oversight. This role will own critical areas of the month-end close process, ensure payroll accuracy and compliance, and maintain the integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate is technically strong in GAAP, comfortable working cross-functionally (especially with HR and People teams), and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience (mix of GL and AP preferred).
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and general accounting practices.
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA eligibility or progress toward CPA certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead key aspects of the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries (accruals, payroll entries, reclasses, intercompany).
  • Own reconciliation of significant balance sheet accounts, including payroll-related accounts, accrued expenses, and benefits.
  • Analyze financial results and provide variance explanations to management.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Support consolidated reporting and multi-entity accounting, as applicable.
  • Drive process improvements and automation within the GL function.
  • Partner with HR/People Operations to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing (multi-state and/or multi-entity preferred).
  • Review payroll reports for accuracy including wages, bonuses, commissions, equity compensation, and deductions.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts (wages payable, tax liabilities, benefits accruals).
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Assist with year-end reporting including W-2s and related payroll filings.
  • Support audits related to payroll, benefits, and compensation.
  • Maintain strong internal controls over payroll and GL processes.
  • Prepare schedules and documentation for external audits.
  • Assist with SOX compliance or internal control testing, if applicable.
  • Stay current on changes in payroll regulations and accounting standards.
