About The Position

MCHC Health Center is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the financial integrity and long-term sustainability of our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This role offers the opportunity to work in a mission-driven organization while applying advanced accounting expertise in a complex, highly regulated healthcare environment. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and regulatory compliance, and works closely with the CFO and Controller to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and support a collaborative, cross-trained accounting team. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; or a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of and experience with the Abila MIP accounting application.
  • Experience working with healthcare practice management systems, including OCHIN Epic, NextGen, and eClinicalWorks.
  • Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Prepare annual operating and capital budgets
  • Manage and support the annual financial audit
  • Prepare Medicare Cost Reports and PPS Reconciliations
  • Assist with Form 990, UDS, OSHPD, and other regulatory and grant reporting
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to grantors and regulatory agencies
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and special reporting requests
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve accounting processes and documentation
  • Assist with developing training materials and cross-training staff across accounting functions
