About The Position

Our client, a family-owned business in WNY, is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to join their team. This is the only in-house accountant, and the role has great growth potential. The position reports directly to the owner.

Requirements

2-5 years’ experience in Accounting
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related
Strong understanding of GAAP
Excellent computer skills, experience with ERP systems preferred
Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong organization skills and time management skills
Strong attention to detail
Self-motivated, driven, energetic, great personality and communication skills
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; Visa sponsorship is not available

Responsibilities

Perform daily accounting responsibilities to ensure smooth financial operations of the company
Ensure all financial statements are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Prepare journal entries, manage general ledger, and perform reconciliations to ensure financial integrity
Generate financial, sales, and operation reports to be presented to leadership team
Prepare/file multi-state tax returns—assist with Canadian entities as necessary
Ensure property tax payments and insurance renewals are completed in a timely manner
Perform manual bank reconciliations
Provide addition support answering phones & at the counter, providing exceptional customer service during peak periods (March – June)
Assist with hiring and mentoring office personnel & clerical team
Complete special projects as assigned
Other duties as assigned/as necessary
