About The Position

This role is to provide information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that assist management, the Board and other users in making educated economic decisions for The William George Agency and The George Junior Republic Union Free School District

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (copy required upon initial hire date)
  • 7-10 years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Yearly Physical (required within 1 month of initial hire date)
  • Valid NYS Drivers License (copy required upon initial hire date)

Nice To Haves

  • MBA and/or Masters in related field
  • ADP Payroll Experience
  • Non Profit Accounting Experience

Responsibilities

  • Assits the accounting department with preparation of accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, account reconciliations, internal/external monthly financial statements, annual audits and annual budgets.
  • Assists with the activities of the disbursement department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase order, petty cash, core employee expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing, and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
  • Assists with the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc.; funding service management, which includes weekly funding reports and customer service;
  • Assists with payroll processing in the absence of the Payroll Coordinator
  • Assists in the completition of regulatory reporting for both the William George Agency and the George Junior Republic School District
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and date, and enhance the company’s value.
  • Respond to the Chief Financial Officer as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate their financial needs.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others courteously and professionally.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Adhere to all rules, regulations, policies, and philosophy of The William George Agency and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate to promote the continued operation and direction of the Accounting Department as directed by the Chief Financial Officer and/or Executive Director.
