Growing together Positions in this function maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports. Performs account reconciliations and analyses, prepares journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles. Analyzes and prepares financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position. Involved in the monthly/quarterly 'close' process. Prepares documentation in support of external and internal audits. Employees in jobs labeled with ‘SCA’ must support a government Service Contract Act (SCA) agreement. Analyzes and investigates Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise This position follows a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 1+ years of professional accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to assess and interpret customer needs and requirements
  • Proven ability to identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems
  • Proven ability to solve moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses

Responsibilities

  • Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports
  • Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month end close
  • Prepare journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles
  • Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
  • Analyze and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position
  • Assist with or lead the month end quarterly end close process for assigned businesses or groups
