About The Position

The Sr. Staff Accountant, reporting to the Assistant Controller, is responsible for maintaining and enhancing accounting policies and procedures in compliance with GAAP. This position acts as a trusted resource in safeguarding the organization’s assets. This position works Monday through Friday, from 8:30am-5pm. For the first few months this position will be in-office every day; after 3 months or so it will convert to 3 days in-office and 2 days remote. The compensation for this position ranges from $75-$90K, depending on experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a senior-level or comparable role.
  • Demonstrated strength in financial analysis and problem-solving.
  • Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft business applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems required
  • Experience must demonstrate high level of interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written, as well as organizational skills, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines. Strong emphasis on organizational skills, analytical skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • familiarity with NetSuite, Sage (Peachtree), Salesforce.com, Tableau, Dayforce, Navan, and Ramp preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of accounting and financial functions, including month-end and year-end close, tax filings, bank reconciliations, general ledger reviews, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Assist with processing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions.
  • Oversee travel and expense policy compliance using the Navan and Ramp platforms.
  • Compile, analyze, and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Maintain the organization’s general ledger, including tracking assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses.
  • Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and financial reporting.
  • Assist in gathering documentation and supporting internal and external audits.
  • Manage income statement and balance sheet accounts, including related account reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, transfers, and construction-in-progress.
  • Manage lease accounting and revenue recognition requirements.
  • Assist with weekly and biweekly payroll processing.
  • Review, update, and document department procedures, processes, and internal controls as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
