About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to provide interim support during a maternity leave for the General Ledger (GL) Accounting team at a prominent defense contractor. You will join a team of four, contributing to essential accounting activities.

Requirements

• 3+ years of GL accounting experience with a large government contractor ($200M+ revenue).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Proficiency in intercompany accounting.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Cognos.
• Treasury experience.
• Cash account reconciliation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in the DMV area.
• Capability to take direct instructions and communicate needs clearly.
• Comfortable with interim contract work.

Responsibilities

• Manage high volume intercompany accounting tasks.
• Prepare and execute month-end close activities.
• Conduct post-close account reconciliations.
• Post journal entries and treasury entries.
• Record cash receipts accurately.
• Support audit requests with necessary documentation.
