About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for coordinating, developing, and supervising processes related to the general ledger and financial reporting functions of the organization. This role supports the accuracy and integrity of financial data while helping manage core accounting activities including general ledger administration, accounts payable oversight, treasury functions, and financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will supervise accounting staff while also performing complex accounting functions. This role works closely with the Finance team and Chief Financial Officer to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support financial analysis across business units.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing employees or accounting staff
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage accounting workflows and general ledger processes

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or MBA
  • Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-business unit financial environments

Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly general ledger close process including reconciliation of balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Ensure accurate accounting of fixed assets including depreciation calculations and asset dispositions
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial reporting packages
  • Support treasury management activities including cash flow monitoring and reporting
  • Assist with tax filings and financial compliance requirements
  • Manage and oversee accounts receivable collection processes
  • Track, analyze, and report on the financial performance of business units and projects
  • Provide monthly analysis of financial results and explain significant variances
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of accounting policies and internal controls
  • Work with external auditors and manage the annual audit process
  • Develop financial models, ad-hoc reporting, and operational financial analysis
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve financial performance
  • Support the Chief Financial Officer and leadership team with financial reporting and analysis
