About The Position

The Senior Accountant will support financial reporting and operational performance across the School Solutions division, with primary responsibility for CharacterStrong accounting processes. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, this role will be instrumental in running and maintaining SuiteBilling, overseeing all revenue-related aspects of accounting and reconciliation specific to the CharacterStrong line of business. This includes revenue recognition, deferred revenue tracking, and supporting the accuracy of recurring revenue streams. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for accurate monthly close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring clean P&L results, in collaboration with regional and shared services teams. This position will also directly support business decision-making across SESI, Catapult Learning, and Little Leaves, and requires strong technical accounting skills, process discipline, and a willingness to collaborate across teams including FP&A and operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience, including general ledger close, reconciliations, and audit preparation.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data validation); experience with enterprise accounting software preferred (NetSuite).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate financial results to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Comfort in a remote-first, fast-paced environment that operates with urgency and a strong sense of mission.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses. Deliver timely, accurate, and audit-ready monthly financials.
  • Lead all day-to-day accounting operations for CharacterStrong, including running and maintaining SuiteBilling (configuration, invoicing, revenue schedules, renewals, and troubleshooting).
  • Provide technical leadership in using NetSuite and related systems to automate billing, improve reporting, and ensure compliant financial operations for subscription-based services.
  • Perform standard and ad hoc reconciliations for balance sheet accounts including AR, AP, accruals, prepaids, and intercompany.
  • Collaborate with the Shared Services Accounting team and Regional Finance teams to ensure accuracy in divisional P&L statements and alignment with FullBloom’s operational goals.
  • Support the FP&A team by providing actuals for budget vs. forecast comparisons and insight into key variances.
  • Assist with multi-state sales/use and property tax filings; support external audits including consolidated, state-specific, and program-level audits.
  • Partner with FP&A and operational leadership to provide insight on weekly scorecard metrics, driving better visibility into leading indicators of performance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in close procedures and reporting automation, aligned with FullBloom’s Business Performance Management playbook.
