Senior Accountant at a Glance…. North America Controllership is looking for a Senior Accountant to support the Procurement Accounting and Finance Teams. This accounting position will report to the Manager of Procurement Accounting and will play a critical role in understanding the end-to-end procurement financial processes, owning the proper accounting execution for procurement-related transactions in accordance with internal policies and US GAAP, and performing variance analyses as requested by management. As part of our continuous improvement initiatives, this individual will identify and drive new accounting processes and procedures within the procurement space. This role will collaborate on various system enhancement initiatives required for new procurement processes and procedures while also getting exposure to other areas of the Supply Chain on other cross-functional projects as they arise. This individual is critical in ensuring the appropriate design and operating effectiveness of our internal controls and policy/procedural environments governing operational and transactional accounting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA a plus
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ relevant experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Ability to produce high quality work in ambiguous environments, analytically interpret financial information, and improve business processes
  • Possess critical thinking skills as well as a desire to work with data and utilize an analytical skillset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with drive to work collaboratively and cross-functionally
  • Ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced, complex, global organization
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills required
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Nice To Haves

  • SAP, BlackLine, Power BI and/ or Power Query knowledge a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact regarding the proper recognition of rebates, commodity true-ups, and other procurement-related transactions
  • Execute month-end close processes including journal entries, management reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Partner with and influence cross-functional teams including Finance, Procurement, and Contract Accounting
  • Assist in monthly forecasting routines, balance sheet analytics, and ad hoc analysis to support the Procurement organization
  • Drive process improvements through automation and developing procedures for addressing potential issues
  • Project manage deliverables from multiple partners, coordinating with Procurement and Procurement Finance to investigate, advise, and clear open supplier items
  • Support all financial audits including compliance, internal, external, and SOX
