About The Position

Under the supervision of the Financial Reporting Manager, the Senior Accountant III is responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements and conducting extensive financial analysis for the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s and Support Services, comparing results to other casinos and the industry. The role involves preparing consolidation entries for statutory reporting under US GAAP and IFRS, maintaining quarterly roll-forwards, and automating financial reporting. This position also leads and supports new financial systems implementations and conversions, prepares financial statements and footnotes under various requirements (US GAAP, IFRS, GASB), and coordinates external auditor requirements. Additionally, the incumbent performs monthly/quarterly fluctuation analysis, cooperates with the general ledger team for new roll-forwards and reconciliations, manages equity and investment reconciliations, reviews intercompany transactions and debt schedules, and performs reconciliations for derivative financial instruments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in Accounting required
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of accounting and supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Must possess excellent time management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of US GAAP requirements
  • Must possess ability to direct and manage team members
  • Final candidates will be required to complete a background check (Criminal Background Check)

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Policies and Procedures.
  • Prepares consolidation entries at various levels for financial reporting including consolidation for statutory reporting at both stand-alone and consolidated basis under US GAAP and IFRS requirements.
  • Maintains quarterly roll-forwards and top side adjustments for other comprehensive income and currency translation adjustments.
  • Creates and automates financial reporting for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
  • Leads and supports new financial systems implementations and systems conversions.
  • Prepares financial statements and the related footnotes in various jurisdictions under US GAAP, IFRS and GASB requirements.
  • Leads and coordinates external auditor requirements in various jurisdictions under US GAAP and IFRS requirements.
  • Creates monthly/quarterly fluctuation analysis to ensure accounting balances are appropriate in the circumstances and the accounting treatment used aligns with relevant reporting requirements.
  • Cooperates with the general ledger accounting team to implement new roll-forwards and reconciliations for various accounts across all entities.
  • Creates and owns equity and investment in subsidiary monthly and quarterly reconciliations.
  • Reviews intercompany transactions and intercompany loan agreements to ensure proper accounting treatments across various jurisdictions.
  • Reviews debt schedules and performs monthly and quarterly reconciliations, including derivative financial instruments for interest rate and cross currency swaps.
  • Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
