About The Position

We're seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Health Services finance team. In this key position, you'll manage accounting functions, financial reporting, and grant compliance while providing strategic insights that support our mission-driven work. This hybrid-eligible role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in healthcare and community services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of nonprofit experience with grant reporting, budgeting, and compliance
  • Knowledge of OMB 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards)
  • Advanced proficiency with nonprofit accounting systems (SAGE Intacct preferred)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles applicable to FQHC/CMHC settings
  • Strategic thinking with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Strong mathematical and analytical capabilities for complex financial problem-solving

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare industry experience, particularly with FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Centers) and CMHC (Community Mental Health Centers)
  • Experience working in Community Action Program environments with wraparound services

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process monthly general journal entries
  • Support Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, 330 Grant Budget, and UDS reporting
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage special accounting projects as needed
  • Prepare Health Center grant invoices and reporting in full compliance with grant terms
  • Submit grant funding reimbursement requests with comprehensive documentation
  • Monitor budget versus actual reports and develop regular financial projections
  • Review accounts receivable and follow up with funding agencies on outstanding invoices
  • Generate and monitor monthly financial reports by grant, location, and department
  • Conduct ad-hoc reporting for various requests and scenarios
  • Communicate findings and irregularities to the Director of Finance
  • Partner with Program Leadership on financial reviews and grant budget development
  • Contribute to the annual agency budgeting process
  • Support state and federal site visits with accurate, timely documentation
  • Provide materials for annual financial audits
