About The Position

The Senior Accountant, External Reporting is a key role and member within the Windsor Controlling group (the direct parent entity that owns Univar Solutions and is the issuer of privately held corporate debt) that supports Univar's enterprise-wide external financial statement reporting process by supporting the preparation of public company-like debt compliance documents, including Annual and Quarterly Reports. While the role is primarily focused on external financial reporting, this role will also participate in the preparation and review of the financial statements and compliance materials for the North American defined benefit and defined contribution employee programs and for relevant sustainability-based external reporting. Additionally, the role supports the global consolidation financial close process with the analysis of consolidated financial statements and by providing certain deliverables.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA preferred
5 years accounting experience (prefer public accounting or financial reporting experience)
Accounting and reporting (US GAAP) knowledge
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize, plan, organize and meet deadlines
Experience working with OneStream and Workiva preferred

Responsibilities

Supports the preparation of the Annual and Quarterly Reports furnished to creditors in compliance with debt requirements.
Assists with preparation of quarterly debt compliance and lender deliverables
Supports the corporate consolidation financial close process, providing the analysis for the consolidated financial statements and working with the team to maintain effective internal controls
Partners and provides financial deliverables required by other groups within the company including Treasury, Legal, Tax, and FP&A as needed
Assists with technical accounting research and analysis. Provides guidance to other groups within the Company and helps implement where appropriate
Point of contact for annual audit process with the external auditors
Assists in submitting census reports, preparing and reviewing financial reports for defined benefit and defined contribution employee programs and for relevant sustainability-based external reporting.
