About The Position

This position is in the Global Accounting organization within Lockheed Martin Global Financial Services (GFS). It supports the Record to Report (R2R) process with end-to-end accounting and reporting processes for our US and international subsidiaries and branches for all Lockheed Martin business areas. Primary responsibilities include international financial and statutory reporting as well as supporting audit requirements for multiple foreign jurisdictions. Additional responsibilities include month-end close support, general ledger and reconciliation, tax reporting, controls and compliance, hedge accounting, complex foreign currency analysis (ASC 830), analyzing and troubleshooting complex accounting issues, and process improvements. This is a fast paced, challenging position where the candidate must be a proven quick learner with ability effectively manage their time to complete multiple tasks in a timely manner to meet deadlines. The employee will be expected to master various systems and processes while providing excellent service and maintaining frequent contact with business partners. This team member will be required to engage with Business Area and Corporate partners along with other key internal and external stakeholders internationally in multiple time zones. An ability to work effectively both independently and in a diverse team environment is expected. This team member may perform tasks such as: - General accounting, to include journal entries for US and non-US subsidiaries, account reconciliations, preparation of accounting templates - Monthly, annual, and ad-hoc compilation and reconciliation activities to complete financial and regulatory reporting - Calculate revenue and balance sheet positions for production and services contracts (ASC606/IFRS15) - Complete monthly tasks to maintain indirect (VAT or GST) filings - Audit activities in assigned jurisdictions - Support technical accounting initiatives or special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated senior level accounting and/or finance work experience and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships, and work effectively with others in different locations
  • Effective time management and prioritization, ability to adjust work schedule as necessary to ensure critical deadlines are met
  • Effective communication skills as demonstrated through the application and interview process

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting for contracts and revenue recognition per ASC606/IFRS15
  • Experience creating and reviewing financial statements
  • Experience working with/as external financial auditors
  • International accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Ability to independently and successfully research and resolve complex accounting matters
  • SAP ledger experience
  • Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, or equivalent designation
