About The Position

The Business Development Manager will focus on creating new business opportunities with medical device and pharmaceutical OEMs, driving revenue growth through proactive outreach, strategic partnerships, and consultative selling. This role requires an entrepreneurial and results-oriented professional who can identify emerging opportunities where VirtaMed’s simulation, digital twin, and AI training technologies deliver measurable value in sales enablement, professional education, and marketing contexts. The successful candidate will develop new customer relationships from the ground up—leveraging cold calling, targeted email campaigns, and trade show engagements—to position VirtaMed as a strategic partner in OEM education and training programs. They will collaborate closely with marketing, product development, and R&D teams to deliver customized simulation solutions that strengthen customers’ commercial impact and clinical credibility.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in account management or sales within medical device, pharma, or simulation-related industries.
  • Proven success in selling complex B2B solutions to OEMs through direct outreach and trade show engagements.
  • Strong understanding of training, education, and marketing needs in medtech and life sciences.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills across multiple stakeholder levels.
  • Self-motivated, strategic, and entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building new relationships.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 30–40%) for customer visits, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, engineering or related medical field.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities within assigned medtech and pharma OEM segments.
  • Prospect actively through cold calls, emails, digital outreach, and trade shows to generate new qualified leads.
  • Develop and execute OEM-focused sales strategies targeting education, training, and marketing departments.
  • Represent VirtaMed at industry trade shows and professional congresses, driving engagement and lead generation.
  • Build strong relationships with decision-makers in training, marketing, and commercial excellence functions.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing and R&D to develop tailored simulation and digital solutions.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and product positioning.
  • Present complex solutions in a clear, value-driven, and consultative manner to executives and technical teams.
  • Manage the full sales cycle — from lead generation to negotiation and contract closure — for new accounts.
  • Drive customer proposals, demos, and pilots that clearly articulate VirtaMed’s value proposition.
  • Support VirtaMed’s growth strategy by contributing to pipeline development, forecasting, and market expansion plans.
  • Demonstrate a hunter mentality with a focus on business creation rather than account maintenance.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for VirtaMed, ensuring consistent representation and messaging across all channels.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create impactful sales materials and campaigns targeting specific OEM segments.
  • Participate in post-trade show follow-ups, lead nurturing, and continuous prospect engagement.
