About The Position

Using advanced sales and interpersonal skills to represent DSM Nutritional Products Inc to: all species of livestock producers, feed manufacturers, distributors, independent nutrition and health consultants within a designated geographic territory. Building a relationship of confidence and trust between DSM and the customers. Promote and sell DSM vitamins, eubiotics, phytogenics, mycotoxin mitigants and proprietary products in accordance with current policies and programs to ensure attainment of business objectives. Provide market and customer intelligence to Sales Director and other disciplines within DSM. Represent DSM at appropriately industry events and meetings. The sales volume is related to the complexity of the job and to achieve assigned goals it is often important to increase the number of customers, or the number of products sold to assigned customers. The share of new business in sales volume is an important aspect because it is frequently harder to sell those products that are new for the market than those that are already well established. Market conditions and degree of profitability or loss of the swine producer greatly effects decision and changes to their priority of cost over return on investment. The number of decision makers at each customer can vary by discipline and motivation and add to the complexity of each sale. All of which can change on very short notice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in production/technology of business-related field.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in sales, marketing or poultry production.
  • Ideal candidates for this role will already reside in AL, GA or MS (US Based).
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating with a variety of individuals within the industry.
  • Demonstrated a willingness to serve and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of industry and markets, in-depth know-how about products and/or applications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, planning and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Sales of DSM quality, vitamins, premixes, eubiotics, phytogenics, mycotoxin mitigants, and other proprietary nutritional solutions sold directly to large and regional integrators, feed mills and nutrition consultants in designated area.
  • Create and build preferred relations at multiple levels within the customer’s organization utilizing DSM Technical Marketing and Management support.
  • Work with Sales Director to achieve budget targets of volume and pricing targets.
  • Development and implementation of projects within CRM Project Funnel according to agreed schedule.
  • Inform management about relevant market data such as: competitive price and strategy as well as industry product demand, market trends, etc.
  • Deliver presentations aiming to improve customer knowledge of DSM products as well as to further develop DSM branding.
  • Quote price and develop commercial proposals according to agreed strategy
  • Prospect, search for new customers, new business opportunities and promote innovation
  • Acknowledge and strictly follow SHE policies in all activities
