AbelsonTaylor Group is looking for 9 Chicago area-based interns to join our 2026 Summer Internship Program, nextgenerATion. Our internship program offers a rewarding experience that fosters creativity, collaboration, and inclusivity. You’ll collaborate with professionals across all levels, gaining hands-on experience to give you a competitive edge in your career. During the program, you’ll have the chance to engage with teams from various departments. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with fellow interns on an exciting, summer-long group project! (Media) SEM Intern The SEM Intern supports the Search Engine Marketing team by assisting with the execution, optimization, and reporting of paid search campaigns across major platforms like Google and Bing. This role provides hands-on experience in performance media, data analysis, and campaign strategy while collaborating with senior team members on real client work and a portfolio-ready final intern project.

Requirements

  • An expected 2026 graduate, or a rising senior (graduating 2027).
  • You are a dependable, self-motivated professional who thrives in a hybrid schedule, with optional remote work on Mondays and Fridays, and required on-site presence in our Chicago office Tuesdays through Thursdays
  • Ability to multitask & complete tasks efficiently
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Detail- oriented
  • Curious and inquisitive
  • Possesses quantitative analysis skills
  • Must be a kind human with a great sense of humor
  • Basic understanding of SEM and search engines (i.e., Google, MSFT/Bing, etc.), ad servers, and SEM processes
  • Basic understanding of MS Office (Excel focused)

Responsibilities

  • Support senior Search Engine Marketing (SEM) team members in developing client paid SEM programs across various search engines (i.e., Google, MSFT/Bing, etc.)
  • Assist with the day-to-day execution and optimization of all assigned client paid SEM bu ys
  • Assist with daily paid SEM budgeting, billing and spend pacing across multiple clients, tactics and campaigns
  • Display strong business and leadership skills to make independent decisions affecting the daily operations and management of paid SEM campaigns
  • Alongside the MI team, contribute to building and analyzing paid SEM campaign performance reports and optimization narratives
  • Attend status meetings, both internally, externally and with partner agencies as needed
  • Develop an understanding of how HCPs and consumers utilize SEM
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of the client’s brands and disease states and determine how paid SEM can provide a benefit to their audiences
  • Continuously research the evolving SEM and Performance media space, staying on top of trends, new vendor partners/search engines and shifts in consumer/professional behavior
  • Establish relationships amongst immediate team members, within media team, activation team, IS peer set
  • Develop understanding of and relationship with leading external SEM vendor partnerships
  • Collaborate with fellow interns on a comprehensive, final project to feature in your professional portfolio
