About The Position

ARISE/Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a Community Habilitation Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in Cazenovia with a young woman with autism and other developmental delays. She and her family are looking for a dedicated DSP to provide support and assist her with working on goals, both at home and in community settings. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: accompanying and supporting her during community outings, assisting her with communication skills, encouraging her to engage in physical fitness activities, personal care and providing transportation, as needed. We are looking for individuals who are patient, enthusiastic and dependable. Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors a plus. Reliable transportation, valid NYS driver's license and a HS diploma/GED are required. Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency. Hours: Afternoons/evenings and weekends. Flexible schedule to be determined with the family. Pay: $25.00 per hour.
