About The Position

Security Supervisor- Full Time, Second Shift Status: Full Time Shift: Second Job Summary: Receiving general direction from the security manager/director, assists with the day-to-day site/shift operation. Supervises operational personnel, assures appropriate security response, proper follow-up occurs on all incidents and that all documentation is accurate and complete. Participates in the formulation and implementation of departmental strategic planning, represents the department and/or shift on interdepartmental and intradepartmental committees, participates in the annual preparation of the department budget, and ensures that hospital employees, visitors and patients heed hospital policies and practices relating to security issues. May be called upon at times to: Answers all calls for service and answers questions concerning these calls or responds accordingly. Investigates all incidents involving criminal matters, complete an incident report and report such matters as appropriate to the proper authority. Required to subdue and/or de-escalate high stress, tense situations involving combative person(s) for an unknown period of time. Issue parking violations assist with traffic control as needed. Enforce or assist in the enforcement of hospital policies and procedures, as directed by administration, in a manner that will protect the legal rights of the hospital and the person involved. Perform other duties as the circumstances dictate or as requested by the Security Management. Shall successfully pass Use of Force training. (Including Exposure to OC Spray, Pressure Points and Control Tactics, Conducted Electrical Weapons (Taser) and Expandable baton training on a Bi-Annual Basis)

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Healthcare Security officer (CHSO) with International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety certification required within one year of hire.
  • Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (AHSO) with International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety certification required within one year of hire.
  • Ability to successfully achieve Taser X-26 certification, baton and handcuff training.

Nice To Haves

  • Former experience with law enforcement agency, and/or military experience preferred.
