About The Position

Nestled at the base of Cougar Mountain, Timber Ridge at Talus is a senior living community in Issaquah, Washington, known for its all-inclusive lifestyle, superior hospitality, and beautiful natural setting. It is the area’s first Silver LEED-certified Life Plan Community. The Security Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily operations of the security function, ensuring the safety and security of residents, staff, visitors, and property. This role involves implementing security protocols, maintaining emergency preparedness plans, and fostering a safe and welcoming environment. The Security Supervisor works closely with the Director of Plant Operations, oversees a team of security personnel, and partners with other departments to foster a safe, responsive, and collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must possess a valid WA State Driver's license and a personal driving record consistent with the requirements of the LCS Drier Selection Policy.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in security management or law enforcement with at least one year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in using security technology and systems.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
  • Must have and maintain a valid First Aid/CPR certification, or the ability to obtain within 180 days (about 6 months) of hire.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and life safety regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in criminal justice, public safety or related field preferred.
  • Experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • During emergencies or natural disasters, the Security Supervisor may be required to report for duty as assigned by the Director of Plant Operations for the duration of the disaster.
  • Will assist the Director of Plant Operations with department staff hiring and training.
  • Responsible for ensuring authorization to admit all incoming traffic according to established policies and procedures.
  • Develops and manages the security schedule, assigns daily run sheets, and minimizes overtime while maintaining the community's safety and operational integrity.
  • Responsible for meeting staffing needs, including but not limited to, scheduling and filling in for absent staff, covering shifts when no one else is available.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections and compliance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Provides deliveries of packages, newspapers, and essential items to residents.
