About The Position

Ensuring the safety of our guests and team members is our highest priority. Anakeesta is seeking an Armed Security Officer to uphold park security and public safety protocol. Our Armed Security Officers will patrol the interior and exterior of our facility and may be asked to monitor a closed-circuit television feed to prevent unauthorized access and limit other incidents. Our officers must have armed security registration issued by Tennessee Private Protective Services. Additional certifications and training in the areas of security, safety, wildlife control, and emergency procedures are highly valued. You must be able to work in all changing outdoor weather conditions, including extreme conditions. You must be able to collaborate with the other members of our team to limit any potential risks. Security Officers will provide guest relations and customer service while keeping to the company standards and mission. We expect each infraction to be thoroughly investigated and properly documented. Our ideal candidate has military, law enforcement, or security experience.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age with NO criminal history.
  • Armed Security registration from the State of Tennessee PPS with Dallas's Law classification or able to meet requirements within 15 days of hire.
  • Provide personal owned handgun meeting state requirements with a minimum of 3 magazines and approved retention holster.
  • Law enforcement, security, military, Emergency Medical Services experience strongly preferred.
  • Emergency Medical Responder or higher certification preferred.
  • Ability to pass a random drug and alcohol screening.
  • Reliable form of transportation with a current driver's license and ability to comply with company's vehicle driving policy.
  • Physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods and walk continually on paved, unpaved, and uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to work morning, evening, overnight, on weekends, and on holidays in changing outdoor weather conditions.
  • Observational, communication, guest relations, reporting and computer skills.
  • Ability to work and think independently in changing situations.
  • Ability to verbally de-escalate upset guests and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol the property for any safety or security risks.
  • Act as an ambassador of the park by being visible and available to guests and hosts, always in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Carry a firearm for defensive purposes.
  • Prevent unauthorized access to the area and the items within including crowd control.
  • Respond to reported incidents as necessary including injuries.
  • Respond to and mitigate all forms of wildlife that enters the guest areas.
  • Maintain a log of any activities.
  • Complete any reports with detailed information.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement as necessary.
  • Assist and coordinate with management as needed including preforming tasks outside of job description.
  • Assist with on-the-job evaluations.
  • Aid in recruiting and hiring.
  • Assist with scheduling and verifying timesheets.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assist in development of Officers in the Field Training Program
