About The Position

Trains, schedules, and directly supervises all security agents and otherwise performs security related duties.

Requirements

• Security officers must meet Florida State requirements.
• Two or three years of previous security, military or law enforcement experience is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
• Excellent communication skills – writing; telephone and listening.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with many variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Thorough knowledge of the layout of the building, function rooms, and some knowledge of the city and surrounding areas.
• Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift.
• Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on the property.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a maximum of 50 lbs.
• Sufficient manual dexterity in hands. Ability to climb stairs and ladders at a rapid pace.

Nice To Haves

• Trade school or an A.A. in a relevant field is desired.
• Guest Service oriented skills/general people skills a must
• Computer proficiency and CCTV skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Trains all new agents in correct procedures, performs on-the-job refresher training when needed.
• Coordinates scheduling of agents to ensure proper hotel coverage
• Assigns specific tasks to agents as directed by Director of Security.
• Serves as relief Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.
• Advises the Director of Security on the work habits and performance level of individual agents to assist in the preparation of performance evaluations.
• Performs all of the duties listed in the Security Agent position description.
• Total flexibility of hours/days. Willingness to change schedule as needed.
• Results driven/get job done attitude with all departments
• Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Department Director.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day/evening/night shifts, weekends and holidays
