About The Position

Ergon Inc. seeks a full-time Security Specialist to join our Environmental Health, Safety, and Security Department. The Security Specialist administers corporate access controls and emergency preparedness and provides critical support for duty-of-care and intelligence monitoring through strong documentation, coordination, and follow-through. Owns corporate access control administration and corporate preparedness coordination; supports duty-of-care and intelligence monitoring through documentation, tracking, and cross-functional follow-through. Maintains readiness to perform protective services, including armed response, when assigned and authorized, per policy, training, and law. Educations and Qualifications: BA or BS degree from an accredited university in a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 5 years or more of experience in corporate security operations, law enforcement, armed protective services, emergency management, or related operational functions. Working knowledge of physical security operations, protective services fundamentals, and basic risk concepts. Familiarity with situational awareness monitoring and structured reporting. Strong documentation habits and attention to detail (logs, trackers, records). Clear writing skills for short advisories and leadership updates. Ability to coordinate across HR, IT, Facilities, and business teams. Discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive information, security incidents, and personnel matters. Eligible to carry a firearm for work and maintain related qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Administer corporate access control systems (badges/ID cards, access changes, suspensions, and deactivations).
  • May be assigned protective services duties, including armed security and incident response.
  • Coordinate access provisioning for onboarding, transfers, and offboarding with HR, IT, and facilities
  • Maintain audit-ready access control records & documentation supporting internal controls.
  • Monitor open-source and subscription-based sources for events impacting personnel, corporate offices, travelers, and assets.
  • Track and summarize relevant trends (crime, civil unrest, severe weather, geopolitical developments, travel disruptions) and escalate urgent risks.
  • Support duty-of-care international traveler security coordination, in-transit monitoring, & risk advisories.
  • Maintain corporate emergency documentation (plans, contact lists, notification templates) and utilize mass notification application(s).
  • Coordinate emergency response drills, document outcomes, and track corrective actions to completion.
  • Support incident coordination and documentation during active events, plus workplace violence and insider threat reporting workflows as assigned.
  • Coordinate vendor engagement to support the reliability and use of related systems.
