About The Position

This position at Lockheed Martin’s, Rotary & Mission Systems (LM RMS), Program Security and Compliance, is located in Hanover, MD. As an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) and Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO), the role involves safeguarding Sensitive Compartmented Information and critical warfighting capabilities. The successful candidate will work alongside security experts, government civilians, and military members to provide a safe and secure operating environment, utilizing their experience and education to protect intelligence and capabilities in a fast-paced, real-world setting.

Requirements

  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance and Full Scope Polygraph and the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access
  • Must have a Subject Matter Expert (SME) level of understanding of industrial security regulations and procedures, including experience administering provisions of the 32 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 117 NISPOM; DOD 5105.21 Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Manuals; and/or DOD 5205.07 Special Access Program (SAP) Security Manuals
  • Must be team-oriented with an ability to still work independently and multi-task
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a CSSO, FSO, or as a PSR
  • Must have excellent communication skills to include verbal and written, as well as tact and diplomacy being key

Nice To Haves

  • Comprehensive knowledge of DoD 5105.21; ICD 705; 32 CFR Part 117; and other DoD policy and regulations
  • Knowledge of Advanced Programs Security requirements, Operations Security (OPSEC), and Program Protection Plans
  • Experience as Top Secret Control Officer (TSCO) and/or Media Custodian
  • ICD 705 Construction Certification
  • The successful completion of the Facility Security Officer Certification, or the Contractor Special Security Officer Course, or the CDSE SAP Mid-Level Management Course Pre-requisites is preferred or must be able to successfully complete within 1 year of employment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and customer interface skills

Responsibilities

  • Acting in the capacity of a Contractor Special Security Officer and Assistant Facility Security Officer
  • Performing Administrative Security functions, organizing and filing all administrative program security paperwork to remain Inspection Ready and compliant with USG regulations
  • Conducting self-inspections; managing preparations for and representation of security inspections and audits by government security personnel
  • Assisting the Security Team with additional security support as required by the RMS Advanced Programs Manager and the local Customer
  • Administering the SCI Nomination Process by processing, logging, and preparing incoming and outgoing SCI Nomination packages
  • Conducting annual SETA requirements in conjunction with the programs; providing security indoctrination, debriefings, pre/post Travel briefings and annual refresher briefings as necessary
  • Performing Classified document & media control to include maintenance of logs tracking documents in transition
