About The Position

Provide responsible security and administrative support for a large research laboratory.

Requirements

  • HS/GED.
  • Five years of receptionist experience.
  • Knowledge and computer skills in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and SharePoint.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to prioritize duties.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Applicant must have a dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, be highly organized and capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks and managing their time. The position will require attention to detail, effective problem solving skills and excellent judgment. Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision and effectively communicate with all groups of clients. Able to work under pressure and accept supervision. Regular and punctual attendance.
  • U.S. Citizenship. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information, job offer will be contingent on selected applicant applying for access to classified information within 14 days of job offer and receiving at least interim access to classified information within 10 days of the application being submitted. If interim access is approved as described, employment must commence within 30 days of approval for access. Eligibility for access must continue without interruption during employment in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and process visitors; verify clearance eligibility and prepare visitor badges.
  • Provide professional communication and customer service at the front desk and over the phone.
  • Provide vehicle entry authorization.
  • Train new guards on lobby and security procedures.
  • Help prepare documents and log books for inspection.
  • Organize and assist with classified meetings.
  • Complete daily log entries, forms, incident reports (UCC), and monthly activity reports.
  • Gather data, compile information, and prepare reports for supervisors and security managers.
  • Maintain logs, reports, and security documentation for inspection by DCSA and internal audits.
  • Monitor alarm systems, security cameras, and public address (PA) system.
  • Operate standard office and security equipment (computer, fax, PA, mobile radio).
  • Issue, inventory, and manage badges of various clearance levels (including temporary, zero-time, and contractor).
  • Generates monthly reports for supervisor and physical security manager on front desk activity for the month.
  • Organizes interviews by reserving conference rooms.
  • Assists supervisor with daily functions and reports.
  • Other related functions as assigned.
