Job Description Summary The Security Receptionist (Escort) is responsible for escorting contractors, visitors and unauthorized personnel into areas where controlled substances are manufactured or stored. The escort works with the Project Lead to ensure all Safety and Compliance procedures are followed. The Receptionist does not act in the capacity of a law enforcement officer and has no arrest or apprehension powers. A majority of work is performed indoors within the facility. Performs administrative duties as directed by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Requires basic knowledge of arithmetic, spelling, English, and grammar equivalent to a high school education.
  • Communicate courteously and professionally at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form and deal with problems involving standardized situations.
  • Perform reading, writing and speaking at a basic level.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to stand/sit in both internal and external building conditions.
  • Exposure to extreme cold and heat are conditions of the position.
  • Ability to utilize PPE.
  • May require prolonged sitting and standing.
  • Basic eye-hand coordination.
  • Protective clothing including uniform, smock, safety glasses, safety shoes, booties, hairnet and gloves are worn continuously in performance of the job functions.
  • Work hazards include proximity to moving mechanical equipment, exposure to active product and dust, odors, cleaning solvents, loud noise, and vibration.

Responsibilities

  • Provides physical escort to assigned contractors within the building.
  • Maintains visual contact and control at all time of individuals he/she is escorting to ensure that activities do not violate security policies and that workers do not have access to controlled substances, confidential information, or equipment that is not required in the performance of their job.
  • Rotates from building to building to assist in contractor escort duties.
  • Inform Project Leaders as needed of contractor activity within the building.
  • Actively participate in general site and departmental Safety initiatives.
  • Provide general administrative support as needed including copying, filing, organizing and data entry.
  • Assist with escort scheduling and approved contractor documentation data entry and filing as needed.
