About The Position

As a Security Officer - MetroLink in St. Clair County, IL, Working in conjunction with a Metropolitan Transit Task Force and our client security teams. MetroLink security professionals provide safety and security of riders on the transit light rail system, station platforms throughout the Greater St. Louis region. Customer service skills are a high priority. This is an outdoor posted position. Duties will include post security until relieved.

Requirements

Each candidate must have achieved at least one of the following to qualify: Military service that included law enforcement or security duties (e.g., military police, elite military forces, and combat arms) or support in a combat zone
Eight years' active service in any military branch
Bachelor's degree in law enforcement or criminal justice
Associate degree in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
Graduation from a certified public safety academy in law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighting
Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives as required.
Assist visitors and employees by providing information and directions as needed while maintaining a professional presence.
Complete detailed and accurate reports regarding incidents, observations, and activities during patrols.
Follow all site-specific protocols and instructions to support a secure environment for personnel and property.
