Requirements

Must have three or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
An armed guard card or license is required.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
A New Jersey Retired Police Officer certificate is required.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation skills as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
Monitor access points and verify identification to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or activity within the facility.
Maintain awareness of the healthcare environment, reporting any security-related concerns, hazards, or unusual circumstances to appropriate personnel.
Complete detailed and accurate reports regarding all incidents, observations, and activities while on duty.
Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency personnel as needed during incidents or emergencies.
Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor while interacting with staff, patients, visitors, and the public at the healthcare location.
Adhere to all firearm and use of force policies, ensuring responsible and lawful handling of issued equipment.
