About The Position

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Specialist is a key member of the AAA Mountain West Group’s corporate security team. This role will be responsible for monitoring all physical security systems, coordinating incident response efforts and distributing critical time sensitive information to protect MWG personnel, facilities, and assets. Operating in a 24/7 environment, the SOC Specialist ensures timely detection, escalation, and resolution of physical security events, while maintaining situational awareness and supporting emergency response protocols across the organization’s multi-state footprint.

Requirements

  • Attention to Detail: Vigilant and thorough when reviewing camera feeds, access logs, and alarms.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Maintains composure and clear judgment during emergency situations.
  • Team Collaboration: Works closely with internal and external partners, threat response unit, and security leadership.
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of internal partners, up to and including C-Suite executives when appropriate.
  • Analytical Thinking: Assesses dynamic situations and makes informed decisions rapidly.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be a competent user of Microsoft Suite and Google Suite.
  • Maintain composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and the public occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Familiarity with physical security systems (e.g., CCTV, access control, alarm monitoring).
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of direct experience in the following area: Intelligence, Security Operations center, Critical Incident Management or Corporate Security Emergency Management
  • Experience with security platforms. (e.g. NC4, Everbridge)
  • Experience in a multi-site corporate security environment or critical infrastructure.
  • CPR/AED certification.
  • CCW or HR 218/LEOSA credential.
  • This position requires the ability to carry a firearm, concealed, daily.
  • Training or certifications in incident management, workplace violence response, or emergency communications (e.g., NIMS, ICS, ASIS).

Responsibilities

  • Security Monitoring & Incident Management Monitor CCTV, access control systems, intrusion detection, and other security technology platforms for suspicious activity or alarms.
  • Monitor various platforms, such as NC4 and Everbridge, for fires, natural disasters and extreme weather events that may affect enterprise operations.
  • Identify and assess potential threats, and initiate appropriate response protocols in alignment with security policies.
  • Dispatch appropriate personnel or emergency services and coordinate with local law enforcement when necessary.
  • Track, log, and report all incidents using the designated incident management system.
  • Operational Support Maintain situational awareness of AAA Mountain West Group’s facilities, key personnel, events, and external threats (e.g., protests, natural disasters).
  • Receive, triage, and respond to security inquiries and service requests from employees, vendors, and external partners.
  • Provide critical support to executive protection, threat response, and physical security teams through informational relay and incident coordination.
  • Support physical access provisioning and deactivation for employees and contractors as directed by leadership.
  • Respond to any onsite emergencies or threats.
  • Communication & Reporting Serve as the first point of contact for all internal and external security communications during shifts.
  • Produce clear and accurate shift reports, incident logs, and real-time alerts for leadership.
  • Escalate high-risk or time-sensitive matters per escalation procedures.
