About The Position

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club, set outside of Austin, TX. Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club is seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager to join the Safety and Security Department. The Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager will oversee and manage all functions of the Security Operations Center, ensuring the safety and security of the members, guests, and staff. This role involves managing a team of SOC Operators, monitoring security systems, coordinating incident responses, and maintaining a high standard of safety protocols. The SOC Manager will also be responsible for staff training, system management, and continuous improvement of security measures. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Security Operations Center Manager, security supervisor, or similar leadership role in a SOC or security environment.
  • Strong knowledge of surveillance systems, alarm systems, and security technologies.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience in training and development.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage complex security situations calmly and effectively.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
  • Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to maintain the personal “concierge” security approach for all members, guests, and employees while on property.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Security Operations Center, ensuring optimal performance of all security systems and procedures.
  • Manage a team of SOC Operators, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Provide guidance and support to SOC Operators, ensuring incidents are properly managed, documented, and escalated when necessary.
  • Monitor the performance of surveillance systems, alarm systems, and emergency communication channels, ensuring they are functioning properly and efficiently.
  • Work with the Safety and Security Leadership team to develop and implement security protocols, response plans, and emergency procedures in coordination with the broader Safety & Security Department.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all major security incidents, coordinating with security teams, external partners, and local emergency services.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of security events, and maintain comprehensive records of all incidents.
  • Conduct regular audits and evaluations of security operations and systems, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Organize and conduct training sessions for SOC Operators on emergency response, crisis management, and the use of security equipment.
  • Collaborate with resort management and other departments to enhance overall safety and security measures within the resort community.
  • Stay up to date with the latest security technologies and best practices, implementing improvements as needed.
  • Conduct quarterly proficiency and development training to include quarterly firearm qualification, tactics training, as well as monthly sustainment training.
