About The Position

Responsible to provide security for patients, employees, and visitors; protects hospital buildings, assesses, and premises as assigned. Also provides traffic control and maintains parking lots and structures. What you will do Patrol hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and intruders. Monitor conduct of visitors on hospital premises. Confront unauthorized persons for questioning as needed. Report safety and/or fire hazards or security violations. Respond to inquiries for advice or assistance from hospital personnel, students, and visitors. Provide restraints for psychiatric patients as needed. Escort personnel to parking lots and hospital buildings as requested. Participate in investigations; Maintain records and prepare incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities. Secure and/or unlock offices and facilities as required. May secure patient valuables or lost and found articles. Maintains log of items received. Control parking and traffic flow. Enforce parking regulations. Respond to all emergency codes and security requests (i.e. Staff Assist, Security Alert, Fire alarms). Respond to CARE Flight operations as needed. Mentors security interns in the role of security. Serves as a liaison to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
