Job Description As a Security Officer - Refinery Gate Driver in Port Arthur, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location supporting access control operations. You will greet visitors, verify credentials, issue badges, manage entry logs, and coordinate security-related communications with site teams, helping to deter unauthorized access through a visible, service-focused presence. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by following site-specific access control procedures, security-related policies, and emergency response activities appropriate to a chemical manufacturing location.
  • Control entry and exit at designated access points by checking identification, issuing temporary credentials, managing visitor registration, and maintaining accurate access logs.
  • Screen vehicles and deliveries at gates as required, verify shipping and receiving documentation, and coordinate with site contacts to support orderly traffic flow.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting events, and assisting with site response protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including monitoring restricted areas and reporting conditions that may help to deter unauthorized access and/or activity.
