About The Position

The Chicago Marriott O'Hare is looking for a part-time Security Officer to join our awesome hotel team! Previous Hotel Security Officer experience strongly preferred. Overview: The Security Officer will be responsible for the safety and security of our guests, our employees, and our property while supporting the department and hotel needs to achieve the overall success of the operations.

Requirements

• At least 1 year experience in hotel security strongly preferred.
• Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
• Must be available to work evenings/overnight, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Previous hotel security experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Secure the hotel by patrolling and inspecting the property, monitoring surveillance equipment and access points.
• Preventing losses and damage by reporting irregularities.
• Keeping watch for suspicious persons entering/exiting or loitering around the building.
• Informing violators or trespassers of the hotel's policies and procedures.
• Coordinate quick response to emergency conditions such as fire, safety hazards and/or threats to life and/or to property in a calm, rational and persuasive manner.
• Prepare and complete reports in a timely manner noting information, occurrences, surveillance activities, interviewing witnesses and gathering information, as needed.
• Positive attitude, while being a team player with a "sleeves-rolled-up" type mentality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinker, problem solver, organized, excellent communicator, both verbal and written.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
