As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access points with clear, professional communication. You will document observations, respond to concerns, and deliver service that makes people feel supported. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, students, staff, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting assistance from onsite staff and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of residence halls, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access at designated points by monitoring entrances, checking identification when required, managing visitor sign-in, and/or directing individuals to appropriate resources.
  • Document and report observations, incidents, and/or maintenance concerns using required reports and communication tools, and promptly escalate issues per post orders.
